The course focuses on the fundamentals of 3D proceduralism inside SideFX Houdini.
Students will learn the core principles of procedural modeling and develop systems for dnyamic simulations.
Lessons will begin with interface navigation, contexts and main tools.
The key concepts of procedural modeling, particle dynamics, smoke and fire, up to shading and rendering will be covered, equipping students with the skills to create compelling visual effects.

BY FOLLOWING THIS COURSE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:

  • Create 3D objects with the procedural method

  • Know how to manage particle dynamics: rain, snow, abstract particles

  • Create smoke and fire simulations

  • Know how to manage shading and rendering within the Solaris context with Karma

ARE THERE ANY REQUIREMENTS OR PREREQUISITES FOR THE COURSE?

Basic knowledge of computer graphics concepts is required.

Minimum PC requirements:

  • Windows operating system

  • Processor: Intel or AMD x64 CPU with SSE 4.2 (10th Gen Intel Core i7 or equivalent AMD Ryzen recommended)

  • Ram: 16 GB minimum (32 GB or higher recommended)

  • Video card: NVIDIA RTX & GeForce GPUs (compatible with Production/Studio Driver 555.x or later) or AMD (24.Q2 or higher) with 12GB VRAM or higher recommended.

    NVIDIA RTX 30 series or later recommended.

  • HDD/SSD: 1 TB
