The Games for Change Student Challenge is almost here!

Playing for the Planet is happy to invite students, schools and universties to partecipate to the Games for Change Student Challenge 2025/2026!
It's a global challenge, where partecipants, between the ages of 18 and 25, can create videogames inspired by the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (known also as the 2030 Agenda).
The goal is to channel young people's passion for videogames to help them develop various technical skills, problem solving and collaboration skills; but also very importantly it's a way to raise awareness and give them tools to imagine creative solutions to a wide range of social issues.

Joining the challenge brings also many other benefits! Winners will recieve a 10.000$ scolarship, global recognition and prizes; even if just partecipating alone has it's perks, from enriching your portfolio to global visibility and free access to game developing resources!

What is Playing for the Planet?

Playing for the Planet starts in New York, in the at the UN Headquarters during the 2019 Climate Action Summit , with the objective of taking on some of the world's biggest climate challenges with creativity and technology, supporting throughout the Videogame Industry in the fight for climate justice, like for example helping reduce carbon emissions.

What are the UN Sustainable Goals?

They are a set of 17 objectives for a sustainable future, aimed to be reached in 2030. These objectives take in consideration all ranges of sustainable world development, and aim to put an end to poverty, inequality, and build a peaceful society built on strong human rights values.
