RealityScan 2.0: Coming Soon
RealityScan 2.0 has been announced, formerly known as RealityCapture — a clear sign that the software is evolving towards greater accessibility and ease of use.
This major update introduces several impactful features for photographers, technicians, and 3D professionals.
Here are some of the key new features:
Improved Image Alignment: More accurate 3D reconstructions thanks to updated alignment algorithms. Photos are combined more reliably, with fewer errors, reduced artifacts, and minimized "stepping" issues in the final mesh.
AI-Powered Smart Masking: Automatic masking powered by artificial intelligence makes it easier to remove backgrounds or isolate objects without the need for manual editing.
Aerial LiDAR Support: One of the most anticipated additions: compatibility with drone-mounted LiDAR scanners. This allows integration of topographic data with 3D imagery — especially useful for large outdoor areas and landscape design.
