Internship: the training path of NOVITAS 4.0 students

During their training internship at Biunivoca, the NOVITAS 4.0 students had the opportunity to work on a creative and technical project that introduced them to the world of video production.
Supervised by the Biunivoca team, they created an animated scene starting from the study of a simple rig of a mechanical arm, using Blender for the construction of the deformation bones and Unreal Engine for the creation of the control rig.

The Process:

1. From idea to concept: research and brainstorming

Before moving on to the practical part, the students went through a phase of research and brainstorming, during which the narrative and visual aspects of the project were defined: the story, the message and thesetting of the scene.
This initial moment allowed us to give coherence and meaning to the technical work, connecting the movement programming to the visual story we wanted to convey.

2. From the blockout to the final scene

Once the concept was established, the guys began to set up the scene, starting from the blockout — a first simplified version useful for defining composition and spaces — and then moving on to the definition of lights, materials and objects.
Over the weeks, each scene was supervised and improved, with progressive updates that led to the insertion of special effects, atmospheric variations and increasingly complex animations.

3. Editing and post-production

With the 3D part completed, the guys brought their work into DaVinci Resolve, taking care of the editing and post-production phase.
Here they were able to experiment with color correction, narrative cuts and small video effects, giving a finishing touch to their animations.
