William Faucher’s New Tool: Improving Accessibility in Unreal Engine 5
Tired of navigating through endless menus and repeatedly clicking to add essential tools to your Unreal Engine 5 scenes?
William Faucher has introduced EasyToolbag, a new tool that promises to greatly simplify the lives of artists and developers.
EasyToolbag is a menu window designed to provide instant shortcuts for the most common operations, turning tedious processes into one-click actions.
Let’s take a look at what this tool has to offer.
What EasyToolbag Offers
The entire utility is divided into three main sections, each focused on optimizing specific areas of your Unreal Engine 5 workflow.
1. “Create” Section
Instead of searching for the correct blueprint, EasyToolbag instantly generates the essential elements directly in front of your viewport camera:
Post-Process Volume: Creates a Post-Process Volume exactly where you need it.
Sequence & CineCamera: Quickly starts your sequence and its associated CineCamera.
CineCamera Here: Adds a CineCamera at your current location.
Lighting Reference Spheres: Useful for quick lighting setup and balance.
2. “Helpers” Section
This section focuses on immediate adjustments to your viewport’s rendering and performance settings:
Cap FPS: Limits the engine’s framerate to better manage performance or simulate specific setups.
Screen Percentage Adjustment: Adjusts the viewport’s screen percentage to balance quality and rendering speed.
Exposure Compensation (EV): Easily adjust your scene’s exposure.
Viewport UI Type Change
AA Type: Quickly switch between different anti-aliasing methods (such as TAA, MSAA, etc.).
3. “Easy Suite” Section (Perfect Integration)
If you’re already a user of William Faucher’s other popular tools (the Easy Suite), EasyToolbag offers perfect integration.
If you’ve purchased tools such as EasyFog, EasyRain, EasyAtmos, or EasySnow, EasyToolbag will not only detect them but also generate them directly in front of your camera with a single click—no need to open the Content Browser.
Technical Highlights
For those interested in technical details and compatibility, EasyToolbag is extremely lightweight and easy to integrate:
Blueprints: Contains only one Blueprint.
C++ Classes: Contains no C++ classes, making it lightweight and less prone to engine compatibility issues.
Supported Platforms: Fully supported on Windows and Mac.
