William Faucher: New Workflow from Unreal to DaVinci Resolve

William Faucher (VFX artist, CG generalist, and Unreal Engine mentor) recently shared an update to his workflow between Unreal Engine 5 and DaVinci Resolve, aimed at simplifying the post-production process and ensuring a more accurate match between the viewport rendering and the final result.
This update follows his previous tutorial on the Movie Render Queue and introduces a streamlined method to achieve renders that closely reflect what’s previewed in the Unreal Engine viewport.
Faucher emphasizes that, while multiple methods exist, this is one of the simplest and most effective ways to achieve high-quality results.

ACES and sRGB Integration

The new workflow dives into the conversion between ACES and linear sRGB, offering a clear understanding of how tone curves affect color grading in DaVinci Resolve.
This approach enhances render quality and ensures the final output remains consistent with the in-engine preview.
