MIA 2026: calls for feature films and animated series are still open

The International Audiovisual Market (MIA), scheduled in Rome from 19 to 23 October 2026, confirms its commitment to the animation sector with a renewed program and numerous opportunities dedicated to producers, studios and authors of feature films and animated series.

Promoted by ANICA # and APA under the direction of Gaia Tridente, the MIA represents one of the main European platforms dedicated to the development, financing and international distribution of audiovisual content.
With targeted calls and B2B meetings, the event offers selected projects the opportunity to connect with broadcasters, streaming platforms, distributors, investors, and industry partners from all over the world.

Open calls for animated series

Animation Series Gap Financing Market

Among the main innovations of the 2026 edition is the debut of theAnimation Series Gap Financing Market, a new market dedicated to international animated series that have already obtained at least 70% of the financing and the commitment of at least one commissioner.

The goal is to facilitate meetings with investors, financial and industry partners to complete the budget and start production.

Animation Next: Italy

The call for Animation Next: Italyis also open, the showcase dedicated to Italian animated series projects already in production or close to completion.

The initiative aims to promote Italian productions on international markets, encouraging meetings with broadcasters, streaming platforms, distributors and strategic partners interested in Made in Italy animation content.
