PCG Geometry Decals: Unreal Add-on by Wouter Weynants

Unreal Engine 5 introduced two major editor systems: the PCG Framework, which enables procedural content placement using graphs, and Geometry Scripting, which allows mesh generation and modification directly within the editor.
PCG Geometry Decals combines both into a streamlined, production-ready tool.

With a single blueprint actor, when placed in the scene, the system automatically samples the surrounding terrain using PCG, generates a mesh through Geometry Scripting, and applies detailed displacement using a custom heightmap.
The entire system runs inside the editor and updates asynchronously, giving artists immediate feedback without manual sculpting or material layering, enabling proper “flow” during the creative process.
Once the result looks right, baking it into a Nanite static mesh for runtime use takes just one step.
The workflow is simple and focused: place the actor, adjust the parameters, and bake the final mesh.

PCG Geometry Decals is available now on Fab, compatible with Unreal Engine version 5.5 and higher.
It supports a wide range of workflows including game development, architectural visualization, look development, and virtual production. The tool demonstrates the creative and technical possibilities that emerge when Unreal’s newest systems work together inside the editor.
