Unreal Engine 5.9: Preview arrives next week
Epic Games announced Unreal Engine 5.9 on November 3, 2026, with the Preview coming next week.
The new version will introduce updates in several areas, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence and the delivery of interactive experiences on the web.
What's New Announced
Key areas of development include:
Artificial Intelligence: Improvements to AI workflows and developer tools.
Web Support: New ways to deliver interactive experiences directly through the browser.
Rendering and Animation: Further updates to engine systems.
Technical details have not yet been fully shared.
It will be necessary to wait for the Preview to concretely evaluate the new features and their impact on workflows.
Towards Unreal Engine 6
The announcement comes after Unreal Engine 5.8, initially presented as the last planned major release of the fifth generation.
Version 5.9 therefore represents a further update before the future evolution of the engine.
According to Epic Games' roadmap, Unreal Engine 6 is scheduled for Early Access by the end of 2027, although the timing could change.
The Preview of UE 5.9 is expected around November 11-12, close to the Epic AI MegaJam 2026.
The stable release date has not yet been announced.
Unreal Engine 5.9 is thus preparing to expand the engine's capabilities, focusing especially on AI and the web.
The next official communications will clarify what new features will actually be available for developers and content creators.
